Okay, so maybe it was a short break.

I do have an opinion I'd like to share. It's about online dating. Pros: once you get the hang of it, you can easily figure out who you'll have a fun time with, and who to avoid. Cons: trying to get the hang of it.

Pet peeves: people who LIE in their profiles. People who can't "speell" properly. Cheap asses who won't buy credits to contact you. People who are entirely too old, too young, too far away, or too short for you to consider.

In the last couple years that I have been trying out the online dating thing, I have met quite a few people - and have had varying degrees of success in it. But I do have to say, out of all the people I've met... there are only 2 guys I remain friends with. (They know who they are ;0) ) Having said that though, the prospects of meeting someone new and interesting and someone I might actually consider dating are still up in the air - as are most things in other situations. I feel it remains largely out of my hands when it comes to that kind of thing anyway (I have no control over how people react to me - take it or leave it!)

I was directed to read the following article on online dating - it was in the Vancouver Courier last week (just before Valentine's Day. Huh.) Anyway I thought it was pretty funny. This woman is only 3 years older than me and she sounds DESPERATE for a date. It's a long one so beware.

And oddly enough, when I signed in to Blogger today, the hot topic of the day was "How to Date and Blog" presumably at the same time... another funny read.

Has Blogging Lost its Appeal or do I REALLY have nothing to say?

Good question. Can't say I've been extremely busy. Can't say I don't have opinions. Or haven't observed/heard anything weird lately. But, I am still alive, I am just at a loss of relevant things to say.

Currently I am existing and plotting. Be back soon.

Blaine in Bangkok

As if having friends overseas isn't exciting enough, another one of them is embarking on a 3-month journey to SE Asia. And back, I hope!! Blaine, infamous compiler of leverage-wielding dating questions, is leaving tomorrow. He even started a travel blog to recount his adventures, although there is nothing there yet. I look forward to my postcard from Singapore and/or Kuala Lumpur.

Man I wish I could go travelling. But alas, I should stick closer to home as a.) I have no money because I just spent $$$ on new tires... but they are soooo nice.... mm, new tire smell... and b.) on account of the new tires, and the 80,000 km service I'm going to be doing soon... I may as well stick around North America and take a road trip or somethin. Any ideas pass along this way! Thanks.
